"Learning" by Kasie Hayes

This photo was taken during a family photo shoot that I conceptualized for this Mother who wanted to commemorate her journey as a first time Mom. Love bursted from her soul as she expressed that she just wanted pictures that depicted and “out” but “in” kind of feeling. Although her daughter was now living life and exploring life outside of the womb, she wanted pictures that showed how deeply connected they still were. As her daughter stares off into the distance unsure of whether or not she felt safe with my new face, her mother leaned in to comfort and encourage her. This shot is reflective of the tender care, love and connection that a nurturing and emotionally available mother pours out onto her children. This studio session was done with natural light.
