"Simply Woman" by Kasie Hayes

These four photos were a part of a simply woman session that I did for this young lady. She was entering into a season of transition. She was facing decisions and fighting to become someone she had never been. Fighting to discover herself and settle into freedom. These are some of the favorite pieces I’ve done in my journey as a digital photographer. Not because they are technically elite- actually after gaining more experience I would do a few things differently. Nonetheless, these are some of my favorites because this was the first session that I ever did that captured the desire in my heart to communicate the complexities of womanhood. I sat with her. I listened to her story. I captured the essence of her season. I told her story through moments captured through my lens. You can feel her, you can hear her through the print. This session marked the beginning of me discovering and refining a passion for womanhood and all it entails.
